The Foundation mourns the death of Madan Gopal Ghosh, former Vice President of the All India Kisan Sabha and former President of the West Bengal Krishak Sabha, on April 21, 2023 in Bardhaman. Madan Ghosh was associated with the Foundation for Agrarian Studies from its inception – in fact, he was also associated with the discussions that preceded its establishment.
Madan Ghosh was also instrumental in organising and supporting the Foundation’s surveys in West Bengal. He attended the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Foundation in Kochi in 2014. He helped organise and was an active participant in the symposium, held in Durgapur in September 2015, to discuss the results of the village surveys in West Bengal. We convey our deep condolences to his family, friends, and comrades.

Sudha is an Administrative Assistant of the Foundation. She assists the administrative division of the Foundation and also has taken part in fieldwork organised by the Foundation.
