CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: RESEARCH ASSISTANTS

The Foundation for Agrarian Studies, a registered charitable trust engaged in field-based research on agrarian issues, has a vacancy for a full-time Research Assistant. The job is based in Kolkata though may require travel. The main tasks involve data entry, compilation and statistical analysis of primary and secondary data on agrarian issues. The duties also include some office management tasks. The initial contract is for a period of six months, extendable by another six months, and with one-month probation.

Preferred qualifications: M.A in Economics, with practical experience in data management software. Knowledge of spreadsheet software essential.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: FIELD INVESTIGATORS

In May-June 2011, the Foundation will conduct village surveys in different parts of the country. During this period, a team of around 20 persons conducts a detailed house-to-house survey based on a written questionnaire.

Preferred Qualifications: A degree in social sciences, and some experience with field surveys.
