PROGRAMME ASSOCIATE: CALL FOR
APPLICATIONS
The Foundation for Agrarian Studies, a registered charitable
trust engaged in field-based research on agrarian issues, has a
vacancy for a full-time Programme Associate. The job is based in
Kolkata though may require travel. The main tasks involve the
collection, compilation and statistical analysis of secondary data
on agrarian issues. The duties also include some office management
tasks. The initial contract is for a period of 12 months, starting
September 1, 2006, with two months’ probation.
Preferred qualifications: M.A in Economics, with practical
experience in data management software. Knowledge of spreadsheet
software essential.
Salary:
Rs. 10,000 per month (negotiable).

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP (CLOSED)
The Foundation
for Agrarian Studies is engaged in a project for preparation of the
Human Development Report for Tripura. For this project, the
Foundation seeks to employ a Research Assistant for a period of
three months.
The job
will be based in FAS Kolkata Office and will involve travel and stay
in Tripura.
Qualifications:
M.A/M.Sc in Economics with basic computer skills including
MS Word and MS Excel.
Knowledge skills:
Proficiency in reading and writing Bengali.
Emoluments:
Rs. 7000 per month (negotiable, based on qualifications
of the candidate)

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ARTIST (CLOSED)
For use for its logo and on its stationery, website and other research
material, the Foundation invites line drawings of men and women
agricultural workers engaged in different agricultural operations.
These can relate to any crop and any crop operation (including, for
instance, ploughing, transplanting, harvesting and winnowing). Each
portfolio that is submitted should have three such line drawings, in
black and white or colour, each on a sheet approximately of A4 size.
Entries from three artists will be selected for use by the Foundation,
and cash awards will be paid for
the three best portfolios, and the artwork of the prizewinners, which
will be the property of the Foundation, may be used by it for its logo,
stationery, and website and for other purposes.
The last date for receipt of entries is March 6, 2005. Portfolios will
be returned to non-prizewinners only if the submission includes a
stamped self-addressed envelope.
